Couple of potential improvers in this, but I have backed the top-rated PERSIAN MOON (5/2) for this tight Listed contest. Form of his York win has worked out well with 2nd and 4th winning since, finished 3rd of 8 in Group 3 Acomb Stakes there last time. It was probably a good effort, considering Mark Johnston doesn’t have a good record in that race, and that wasn’t a bad race as all 8 runners were last time out winners. Extra furlong here should suit. Johnston’s runner in this last year finished 3rd, having finished 6th in Acomb on previous start, so a good chance this one will do better.
