BEST of the BETS

Not expecting anything from these, especially the two big priced ones, but all of them are potentially on a good mark but mostly been out of form. I have backed these for interest, but only to minimum stakes as it’s impossible to be confident about any of these.

3:20 Redcar - Xcelente (66/1), ex-Johnston horse, about a stone lower than in nurseries around this time last year, probably needs to drop a lot more in weights judged on well beaten effort in similar race over c&d two weeks ago, but with Easterbys you just don’t know.

4:10 Hexham - Authorizo (8/1), a stone lower than at start of the year, there is a reason for that he has been poor but hinted at return to form when 2nd at Cartmel from 1 lb lower two starts ago, that gives him a chance. Crackdeloust (40/1) is potentially well handicapped, but needs to bounce back to form on his return, has placed form in novice hurdle here, though it was a long time ago.

4:40 Hexham - Shaiyzar (12/1), had no chance last time but earlier 3rd at Cartmel from 2 lbs higher gives him a chance. 0 from 6 here though but all those were over fences.
