    I was looking at last two years data to see which UK jockeys have done best on short priced runners. Only included jockeys that had ridden at least 25 horses that were priced shorter than 3/1.

    Data is for past two years, and past record is no guarantee that they will continue to do well in future but might be interesting to see how it goes.

    1. Megan Nicholls - 17 winners & 7 places from 31 (54.84% strike rate), +22.51 LSP, A/E = 1.57
    2. Ben Robinson - 23 w & 11 p from 49 (46.94% sr), +16.98 LSP, A/E = 1.31
    3. Tony Hamilton - 24 w & 12 p from 51 (47.06% sr), +16.59 LSP, A/E = 1.30
    4. Barry McHugh - 20 w & 15 p from 44 (45.45% sr), +15.77 LSP, A/E = 1.27
    5. Cam Hardie - 15 w & 5 p from 34 (44.12% sr), +10.29 LSP, A/E = 1.27
    6. Lewis Edmunds - 15 w & 9 p from 35 (42.86% sr), +11.39 LSP, A/E = 1.25

    There are currently 3 qualifiers today, but market has to be watched till before the off as a slight drift could see them drop out of the price range.

    Splinter @ 2/1 (1:50 Pontefract)
    De Bruyn Horse @ 11/4 (2:10 Goodwood)
    Chez Hans @ 5/2 (8:55 Chepstow)

    2 of them yesterday drifted a lot and didn’t qualify as they weren’t in price range (both placed), one that did qualify didn’t even place. I am going to record the results for each jockey separately for a few days to see how it goes.

    Edmunds = -1 (1 ride)

    There is one that qualifies at the moment, but again the price is borderline

    The Big House (2:40 Thirsk) 11/4 currently

    Last one drifted, so didn’t qualify. But there was one that shortened late and won yesterday, Abate (5/2) for Barry McHugh, I missed it too, it’s not easy to follow this system unless you can be there to watch the market till right before the off, as yesterday’s winner had been as big as 9/1 during the day.

    Results so far

    McHugh = +2.5 (1 ride)
    Edmunds = -1 (1 ride)

    There could be a few qualifiers today.

    The 3 listed below are currently in the price range, but some others could shorten later.

    My Kinda Day (12:45 Redcar)
    Entrancing (2:45 Redcar)
    Qaaraat (2:05 Wolverhampton) - I have already backed against this one.
