BEST of the BETS

Relying on this year’s Supreme Novices’ form for my two main bets today, CLAIMANTAKINFORGAN (15/8) and WESTERN RYDER (6/1) finished 5th & 6th in the SN. Claimantakinforgan made a good start to chasing with a comfortable win in 3 runner race at Uttoxeter last time and should have more to come. Western Ryder goes for the Greatwood Hurdle and qualifies on most of the trends for this race.

Also had a couple of much smaller bets on couple of long shots below.

1:15 - VANITEUX (25/1) has a good record here, having been placed 5 times from 11 runs here including a 3rd in the Supreme Novices 4 years ago. At age of 9 he is not getting any younger but has come down a long way in the handicap and it wouldn’t be a huge surprise if he still retains enough ability.

2:25 - I know SIZING GRANITE (20/1) has failed to finish on his 3 previous visits here (2 of them in Champion Chase), but is not without chance at the weights and is a big price.
