The stewards apply the rules when it affects the winner, which of course is correct, but very rarely take any action when a jockey blatantly fails to ride out for a place, examples of which can be seen every single day.

Crazy for Cosgrave to pull the horse up towards the line.

The implications of his actions could be a big financial loss to the punters, i.e. exchange players, punters in the betting shop with this in their multiple bets.

28 days is it long enough?, will this teach him and more importantly "others" from doing anything like this again.

After all this is not human error this is gross misconduct of his professional. I know I may sound harsh but change this occupation set of circumstances into any other occupation and the punishment would be more severe.

Ribot, agreed, too many non triers when riding for a place, and mainly the bigger the jockey the more you see this type of thing.
