6 picks today. usual 1 pt E/W and 1/20th stakes on e/w doubles and trebles, but I'm only counting singles results in the P/L. Even if I get a massive treble or two!
Ch'fd 3.55 P ROCK 12/1 (1/5th odds 3 places) 2nd 6/1
Thirsk 4.0 J.S.CHARLIE 14/1 ( " " " ) L
G'way 4.45 L.SUN 10/1 (1/4 odds 4 places) W 7/1
Great afternoon. Gifted Master delivered 25 pts profit, Purple Rock 1.4 pts, then Low Sun topped it off with another 12.5 pts. Take away 6 points for the unplaced and that's +32.9.
Also had a great win double, place treble and 3 place doubles with my small stakes multiples, but not counting those in my totals.
I'm on +41.7 after 3 days of these. I'm really pleased with the high win/place SR overall. Still early days and I hope it keeps going. You don't need many winners at these prices to produce good profits.
The idea is that these are quality picks which should deliver good enough SR to take advantage of the good prices, which are longer than usual for this quality because of big fields or other factors.
Cadeau Magnifique went from being last of the 14 runners 2 furlongs out ro being 2nd at the line, and if the race had been 50 yards or so longer it would almost certainly have won. Very striking late run.
1/4 odds the place for first 3, 5 pts returned 1 pt profit on the day for the singles, which are now at +40.7 after 5 days.
Finley, you can't tell us how you get your longshots! You said something like 'a bit of this, a bit of that, a smidgen of the other, but try your own way.' Perhaps I should repeat that enlightening formula.
