Thank goodness for that, jeez its hard going out there! Isabel rightly didnt give hers a hard race, it couldnt go through that ground whereas Espirit showed its class by winning DESPITE the ground. may be a vey good prospect

Wow that was a rough day and well done to anyone picking a winner!
  • Am i watching the same race as the Racing post!
ok Mugz, Seamus is in the habit of sending a horse on a 600 mile round journey when he could have got a racecourse gallop anywhere or entered an easier race at Newbury or Sandown. They are NOT a gambling stable and theirs often drift, thus why i am a fan, the sheep dont tend to follow his horses. I can assure you they thought it was fit and ready (thus the prep race on the flat at Windsor). But anyway im glad these so called "expert" publications get it superbly wrong, it makes it easier for me to get a nice price nto ie "close up, one pace, unable to close etc" makes it look a moderate horse, whereas my "never put in the race at any point and THAT lingering look round (as if he was on Shergar)" seals it for me...definite bet if he can find the same kind of race for it. Id be happy to back it (with a different jockey...his regular Kevin Jones would do) if it took the two fallers on again. Why? Chesterfieild is a 144 hurdler yet was receiving 7lb weight from Hells (137) so if closer it would have beat that easy effectivel a stone better in. it was getting 3lb off Djingle yet thats rated 143 so 4lb better in. The one is was badly in with was Midnight a 146 hurdler that was receiving 4lb from Chesterfield. But Chesterfield has a blistering turn of foot at the end of his races and if close would beat these easily except maybe Midnight (who was going to win). So hes well in with 2 of the 3 market leaders, hes travelled 600 miles (riound), it was fit from a great run on the flat and is the stable star....maybe you can understand why me and the tsable were so puzzled about Hughes's lame effort and if he had been trying to place it at its best finishing position 9as the rules dictate) he would have won...he was miles behind Hells 2 out yet gets beat 1.5 legths and that was asking a horse to go from a walk to sprinting whereas Hells was all out at the time!

Thats the level i go to to with my selections and why i trust my own eyes rather than the lazy eyes of the RP et al.Thats why i make a profit out of the game. With your theory and race reading Mugz you basically wont ever back Chesterfield as it will never be the subject of a gamble (as explained above) which seems to be the basis of your assumption they didnt want it! i can assure you they DID! £60k to a small yard like this when theyve done 600 miles!! Lordy!

Anyhoo, thats whats its all about, different views. So dont be insulted by the above, its just my passion for the game and bewilderment at how others play the game, which of course you are entitled to. And thank you for thye opportunity to allow me to post my (sometimes contraversial) views
  • Am i watching the same race as the Racing post!
Ok i must be on drugs! Spoken to Mullins and he thought the ride was awful! Never put in the race at any point! He wont be riding for them again. The rules say you must ride for the best position and he clearly didn’t. I mat as well pack up if i read that race that badly! But i know i havent so will respect your view mugz but wow, what were you watching man?
  • 230 Carlisle
very unlucky indeed. Was going best and had the Irish horses measure. if you get time watch the appalling ride by Hughes on Chesterfield. If he had put one ounce of effort in, he would have been close enough to win when the the clear leaders (and were going to be 1st and 2nd) fell. 600 mile round journey for a £60k race and just saunter round at the back? watch the stupid long look he takes before the 3rd last...what was that all about? Never tried one inch. Would never have won as the first 2 were desparately unlucky but a lesson to every jockey....ride for the best place and you may be rewarded by a bit of luck. Knowing Seamus, thatll be the last ride Hughes ever has for the stable! would he have given a Mcacin horse that ride? I doubt it. But seriously unlucky for the Smith horse.
  • Monday
what an appalling ride by Hughes. Why send a horse on a 600 mile journey just to canter round in your own time? as it turns out, if he would have put a spark of effort in he could have won as the two leaders fell at the last. Take a look at the long look round he does when in 4th 3 out...then does not bother making any ground despite still cantering. Hes a weird jockey who seems never to try on Southern horses! I know one of Seamus's owners and ill be interested to hear what he thought about that...my guess is he will never ride again for them

Cracking race that 130...the 1st 3 home are smart. Sherwoods ran well, bit too keen but on reflection this was a tough task. will win races thoi.

One more bet is probably my biggest bet today at Carlisle

I cannot believe Chesterfield is 10/1 in the 230! This is a top horse! Yes, Seamus's horses are not running particularly well (he comes good March April normally) but this is a class horse. Im not a big fan of Hughes on a Southern horse, he only seems to win on Northern trained horses! But if this fella is there coming to the last he will win as it has speed to burn. Good win best at 10/1
  • Question for Hippo / those with Lambourn connections
Value, my advice is go go go go! You will have a cracking day...be warned though, youll end up buying a nag! Hes infectious! Loved by everyone at Lambourn, he is the heartneat. Get him talking about his Parddubicka exploits and his broken neck!!! Youll still be there in a weeks time. You will love it, he is what racings all about and remember, he was damn good jockey but cut short through serious injury. Dont take money with you tho, he WILL sell you a horse!!
  • Meydan winter warmers are back
Daz, only just read this! Wow! 6/6 is unbelievable. Brilliant stuff. ive never done that ever! All the accas must have been superb and this is at a track that is so hard to predict (thats why i didnt spot it). Hope you hit em hard mate and ignore this person, they are feeding off hate and one day he will meet his come uppance. We should all feel sorry for him as he obviously has mental health issues and is in a very bad place. I see hes also owning up to Sunderland Sam with his Dog talk!

cheers guys, very flattering, thank you. i simply love the game which is why i post. i love proper banter and its good we have different opinions. But the spoilers are poison and have no place on here. Im not a siant and will blast bacjk if i feel someone is getting personal. They dont know me and if they think im crop, so be it, but i will not accept personal abuse, so not quite the saint, this piece suggests! I STILL GET VERY ANNOYED AND FAIL TO UNDERSTAND HOW THEY GET AWAY WITH IT.

I SEE THE MAIN CULPRIT IS BACK AND SHOULD BE BARRED IMMEDIATELY. IM SURE THE SAME ISP SHOWS, SO BAR IT FOREVER!
  • Newbury Thursday
Cheers guys. I thought Young Liuetenant was unlucky running into such a goodun but ew at 8/1 was still good. champ was ultra impressive with his jumping but the speed it showed quickening up was brilliant. gerraghty reported it as qucick as Sprinter sacre which is high praise as its a stayer! tOO SHORT FOR ME BUT DID THE FORECAST AND THE 2ND WILL NEXT TIME OUT. lOVE THAT HORSE AND WHAT A RIDER YOUNG gRIFFITHS IS. Swerved Florensa and would have been gutted being beaten by a shd by the fat oaf! Son of Coma lived up to the original hype and was very impressive. i did the reverse forecast as well as on course there were vibes that they fancied the 1-2. A great day indeed. Also did Hendersons in the hcap hurdle....because everyone else did! Against all my rules but a few beers had been consumed by then.

    Nothing today
  • Newbury Thursday
Hi value,? You’re absolutely right about son. Its owned by the sullivan mob who have all their horses with willie mullins. He had it but registered to henderson on the day at punchestown. Would have stayed in Ireland if it won but sent to lambourn to get treatment. But good spot!
  • Nap
Mo worries Kerry, you werent saying it was going to win or anything, just your fancy. Keep posting
  • Do the stewards actually watch markets?
No paranoia as in fear, i really do HATE him! Theres a difference! A hippo in blinkers? now theres an idea. A Nicholls in a blindfold mounting the steps at Tower of London? now thats perfect....but rope would snap as hes so fat! So, no, no paranoia here, just pure dislike and distain for a classless oaf!...Nicholls that is, not Peregrine, of course!!
  • Exeter
Wrong outsider in the novice chase! But what a ride by Isabel Williams! Thats as good a ride as youll see all season and the powerpack finish was brilliant. You all know im already a fan of hers as she won me a small fortune last season. Brilliant stuff even though i didnt have a penny on it!

Nicos was going and jumping well enough until Boyhood was rushed up past him. That seemed to really spook him and jumping went ragged and quickly pulled up by Nico. Another day at Newton Abbot for him
  • Exeter
Sporting John won nicely despite being as green as hell and wow Hendersons was fit and ready and heavily backed! Augurs well for the next few weeks. Poor old Gods Own looked old. I hope they now retire the old boy, owes us nothing. A great servent
  • interesting article
Another attempt to wipe out on course bokkies (mind you they dont help themselves by ripping off non racing punters with rubbish ew terms and shortening every horse in every race). I also think its a cynical way of stopping firms like bet365 undercutting paddy ripoff! Early prices are in the punters favour not this three card trick!
  • Friday
sorry guys it was so late, but really thought this was a group horse in an auction race. Should have posted then typed rest...but then again if it got beat id be pleased it was late! Now have a sweat on with a 16/1 and 22/1 winner and place with 3 legs to go. Also done them singularly and double so well up whatever happens. Love a sweat tho!
  • Thursday
well you know the GGods arent with you! Balck Ops dots up with a great round of jumping and I cant belive what i just saw with Timoteo! hes cantering with a good position on inside, the fav Benny wotsit already beaten and he just runs into the running rail! Seems to trap himself , took a whole load of false steps and that was that. I think Cannon lost concentration and didnt see the bend...they all turned and he seemed to realise it too late. Very annoying and told me nothing as not late enough to say he would have won, but the horse was clearly spooked and that was that.

Rubbish again but that bumper may be good. They were sprinting a long way out and Webber is brilliant with bumper horses when he gets a good un. The Henderson horse stayed on again after being outpaced and Ellisons looked all over the winner 1f out but the 3 quickened like good horses. A race to note
