Carp Kid won this race last year off a 2lb higher mark and although he hasn't been in quite the same form this season, all his races have been at a better level than this (Class 4 and 5). The drop back to Class 6 company for the first time this season, and in a race he has has already won, are both plus signs and he should go close today.
We will take a chance on Mykonos St. John at a nice price as he has more recent winning form than most in this race, getting his head in front in a 10 furlong handicap at Lingfield last month, taking advantage of a falling handicap mark. He couldn't build on that when he was last of 9 there ten days ago, but that race was over a mile at class 5 level so back up to 1m2f today and a drop in class should see him in a better light and he could well outrun his odds.

Queens Road Review has bounced back to form with a 2nd at Thirsk three weeks ago followed by a good 3rd at Beverley earlier this month. They were both on quicker surfaces but she also has decent form on softer ground. The blinkers replace the cheekpieces today and another big run can be expected.
Monkey Miss was held up when winning comfortably at Bath in May, on good to soft ground. Not quite been at that level in the three starts since but the step up to seven furlongs looks like it could be a good move given her recent problems at the start and her style of running. If she brings her 'A' game today she would have every chance of being involved.
