Very short price today, it's a really weak race and it will be disappointing if this one gets beaten but of course there is no such thing as a certainty

    Bet #133 - 12:25 Hereford - Parade Away, 0.8 pt win @ 8/13, 2 x 0.1 pt straight forecasts - Parade Away/Handstands & Parade Away/Spice Boy

Parade Away has to carry a 7 lbs penalty for easily winning a match over this CD for which he was long odds on (1/16), but despite the numbers there is very little depth to this race as most of these have been getting beaten a long way in their races. Only realistic challenge to the selection for win purposes looks to be the winning pointer Handstands who has been bought for £135,000. Ben Pauling had a similar one disappoint yesterday (Magical Annie mentioned yesterday having been bought for £140k), this one is at least starting off at the right level and I expect him to run well but Parade Away's form looks too strong, and although last of 7 finishers in the Sharp Novice Hurdle (Grade 2) at Cheltenham, he wasn't disgraced. This is a huge drop in class.

Return of Bradley Harris, who has won on him before, with his 5 lbs claim is also a positive.

Among the bigger priced horses, Spice Boy could run well on his hurdling debut and has place chances, stable did very well with his sister Spice Girl. He showed promise in the middle one of his 3 bumpers when finishing a close up 4th at Worcester. Winner of that Worcester race, Wellington Arch, ran well under a penalty in a strong bumper at Ascot next time.

From others, John's Dream could also be a little overpriced as he made his debut in the Ascot race mentioned above. He finished tailed off though and will need to improve quite a bit to even make the frame.

Had the first three but unfortunately in wrong order, Parade Away beaten by Handstands, I would have been better off backing Spice Boy for a place who finished 3rd @ 40/1. So frustrating when you read the race well, but make the wrong decision to still end up losing.

Thanks Doubler. Yes, Handstands won very well, admittedly apart from the first two there wasn't a lot of quality in the race but they were beaten a long way.
