Bet #115 - 6:15 Dundalk - The Mpex Kid, 0.5 pt e/w @ 7/1 (paying 4 places, 1/5 odds)

The Mpex Kid has a good record here at Dundalk. He has run here only 6 times, 4 of those over this distance, has two wins from marks of 65 & 66. The two unplaced efforts over CD were both when he was rated in 70s, and in one of those races he finished a close 4th. Looks well handicapped now his mark has dropped to 62.

He is one of only 4 distance winners in this field of 14, of other distance winners Smaoineamh Sile seems better on turf and she finished only 9th in this race last year from 3 lbs higher, she is in good form though so wouldn't rule her out completely. The fav Darkdeserthighway was also favourite for this race last year but could finish only 5th, she is 2 lbs higher this time though comes here in good form.

One negative for TMK is recent form, he has failed to get close in 4 runs since his last win here in November last year, beaten a total of 33 lengths in those 4 races that included two runs here. Handicapper has given him a chance though, dropping him 6 lbs for his latest effort at Galway.

Trainer's only previous runner in this race placed 3rd @ 20/1 (last year).
