BEST of the BETS

Yesterday proved to be tough as predicted with just one placer from 3 selections. Today doesn’t look any easier, especially as 3 of my selections are newcomers, so keeping stakes low. Small win on first one, small each ways on all others. Good luck.

1:30 Hamilton - Kevin Stott is 8 from 45 (+7 LSP) on Kevin Ryan newcomers, record improves to 3 from 4 (+7 LSP) when they are in first two in betting, there appears to be a lot of confidence behind EAST (5/2) today.

2:00 Hamilton - GAELIC WIZARD (12/1) has a good record here, including two wins this season. Only 6th of 15 (btn 3 lengths) here last time, 1 lb lower now so may get a bit closer.

2:10 Kempton - gone for only previous winner in the race, SYLVIA’S MOTHER (15/2) who won a small nursery at Chelmsford two runs ago and may offer a bit of value against the odds on favourite.

2:40 Kempton - MIND THE CRACK (6/1), Mark Johnston’s newcomers have a 22% win (20 from 92) and 36% place strike rate when ridden by Silvestre De Sousa. It improves to 33% win (19 from 57, +26 LSP) and 46% place when they are in first 3 in betting, so market could be informative about this ones chances.

4:20 Leicester - Henry Candy doesn’t get many first time out winners, but they do occasionally pop up at big prices. This season he has had just one debut winner at 9/1 but a couple of others placed at 33/1, so I have had a little each way interest in GOSCOTE (28/1).
