Betfair are offering 5 free £10 bets for the festival all you
have to do to qualify is place a bet of £20 on each of the
    saturdays up to march 15th.

it started last saturday (runs saturdays only) but
didn't think it through properly and, it cost me £2.

on lay bets a liability of £20 counts as a £20 stake.

    my method
todays bet would be, SHANROE TIC TEC layed 5.5 backed 7/2
odds layed on betfair, any horse with odds 0f 5.5
    stake £4.5 liability £20.45
    free bet assured

if the lay places 1st the £10 free bet costs you £20.45 not good.
    I only have 1 bookie account(WH)+betfair
goto the bookie of your choice, not betfair, and place a win bet
on the horse for £5.50 as near 7/2 (4.5) as you can get.

if i'm right that would leave me with a loss of around £1

£1 for a free £10 bet at cheltenham. not too bad.

i'm sure the T&C's allow for this.
If anyone checks it out, please let me know if im on the right
    track.

    Cheers Brian.

I joined in today and did some fairly low "risk free" dutching on the exchange to get this weeks free £10 bet.

So do this each Saturday now till the festival and some free bets to take advantage of.

Actually cancel the previous. I have just read the T&C's and Betfair customers who have the basic rewards package are not eligible for this offer.

I should have read these first. :groan:

Not worth it for me changing my basic package because I get a low Belfair commission using the basic package without all the singing and dancing offers.

For what I would lose out on, it would not be worth switching to a different package.

Oh well at least I had a small profit on my "low risk" bets today.

Yes Rodeo, sharper than a butchers knife the bookmakers.

The old adage if it looks like rubbish, smells like rubbish, then it is probably rubbish.

Will not hinder or spoil my Cheltenham but was a nice thought a few free bets.
