Tuesday Thoughts....quirky double and Southwell fancies......

The brilliantly named jockey, Rex Dingle, won the last two races on the card at this lingfield meeting in 2019.

    Today he has two rides, in the same races, both for Robert Walford and both would look to have very decent chances. Win Single on first runner and Win double on;

    CHLOE'S COURT 3:15 Lin @ 3/1

    THE BROTHERS 3:45 Lin @ 9/4

    .

    Southwell

    4:15 - AZARI e/w @ 16/1 -

Unfortunately only 7 runners, but still looks a decent ew price. Won this race last year off 2lbs lower BY 7 LENGTHS! Has just been dropped 4lbs, and drops back down into a C5 for the first time since winning last year's race.

Trainer has a much better win rate (18% all time) at this course compared to overall (8% all time at all courses). Daniel Muscutt's only ride today.

    .

    4:45 - WARRIOR'S VALLEY @ 11/2 -

David Griffiths won this race last year (with Ornate). Warrior's Valley has shortened into 11/2 from 8s, having run only two days ago. Has won off a higher mark than todays.

Lewis Edmunds comes back in for the ride for the first time in 10 runs. This jockey has ridden the horse 5 times, with a record of 1-2-1-2-2

    .

    5:15 - CABALLERO @ 4/1 -

Joe Fanning's only ride today, and he's on this one for Keith Dalgleish despite Mark Johnston having a runner (which he has ridden several times).

His one ride on Caballero was a winning one in a Class 2 handicap at Newmarket in October.

Horse's First run on the surface but could be well in if taking to it.

    .

    5:45 - LITTLE INDIA @ 6/1 -

Another fibresand debutant. Am tentatively hopeful that the new surface will turnaround her fortunes. Chance taken due to Karl Burke's excellent record at the course (36/170 - 21% - +£152.08 past 5 years), and tremendous record when teaming up with Ben Curtis, who rides so well here.

    .

    6:15 - LE MANEGE ENCHANTE @ 9/1 -

Extremely risky, as this horse is very frustrating and has been sat on a lowly mark ready to pounce for the past couple of years. Hoping that Luke Morris' first time onboard, coupled with Derek Shaw's promising current form (3-2-3-3-7-1 since New Year's Day) bring about what's needed for the win. This si Shaw's only runner today, he won with his only runner yesterday.

    .

    6:45 - DAME DENALI @ 4/1 -

First try on fibresand, and record in 3 runs so far would suggest has no hope. Therefore the 4/1 on handicap debut looks short, but also makes me wonder if this one has been plotted up.

Trainer Anthony Carson has a very good overall record at the course - 7 wins from 24 runners (29% win rate) +£26.25 LSP.

Jockey William Carson was used selectively by the satble in 2019, 4 wins from 13 rides. Hoping this is his first winner for the stable in 2020.

Just pointed out to me that Denali's race is not a handicap.

Azari is woefully out of form but it has bounced back from similar figures before notably in dec 18
    but has to be considered risky been beaten 30l and 25 l , 21l , 44l last 4 races

Yes agree, absolutely Joe. My eye was drawn to that form prior to the win last year. Before the December race win, was beaten 40L, 11L & 20L, then followed up in this race in January by 7L. Just hopeful that the price was too big to be honest. Highly speculative pick I have to agree. Good Luck wth yours today.
