Shocked to read this today. Alastair Down is such a legenday figure in racing journalism for me, such an inspiring writer and was part of the best Morning Line team along with Francome, Tommo and McCririck. Life is not fair.

Awful, awful news this.

Had no idea. I know this is shallow but it kind of makes it more awful that one knows of a distant connection to this attrocity.. I guess we become somewhat immune to the s h i t e that happens around this f u c k e d planet.
