Plenty of dross in this race. On the plus side it is easy to put a line through most of the runners, but, this needs to be done carefully as it’s that time of year when the gambles are landed with ostensibly ‘out of form’ types.
The one I like is Majdool. The are reasons to suggest he is in better form that is apparent. His last run was too bad to be true and the ground is an obvious excuse, one to put a line through. In the run prior he ran in his first ever class 6, but that was a 0-65, the highest class 6 band, today it’s a 0-55, the bottom class 6 band, and he’s the number 1, highest rated, with a rating of 55.
Looking back he has rated much higher, he is ex Maktoum, bought by current connections for 22k just over two years ago, he was rated 87 at the time.
He has one course run over this distance when he hacked up in a class 5 maiden
It looks significant that they have chosen this cd for his first class 6 on the aw.
One negative is the draw, it is bad, but he could be so well handicapped that the draw won’t matter
