Bet #132 - 2:50 Doncaster - Solid Silver, 0.5 pt e/w @ 7/1 (Betfred and some others paying 4 places)

Solid Silver was disappointing when well backed on debut in class 5 bumper at Lingfield, a race that the connections had won with Zonisty the previous year, Zonisty went on to win under a penalty so if this one was equally well thought of then she could run well at this level. Solid Silver left the debut running well behind when 2nd @ 20/1 last time, 2 lengths behind favourite Metkayina but well clear of the rest. Metkayina had earlier finished 5 lengths behind today's favourite Magical Annie in Ireland, so on literal reading of that form Solid Silver has a bit to find with the favourite but Metkayina seemed to have improved between two races which makes me think Solid Silver could compete well today.

Selection had two other entries in lesser races this weekend, but it maybe interesting that they have decided to take a chance in this Listed race. It is a competitive race, and Magical Annie obviously looks a big danger having changed hands for £140,000 after her debut win but with 4 places on offer Solid Silver looks good value as a reproduction of her last run should see her be thereabouts.
