Well if your not in it you can't win it ! So I'm on bravemansgame each way at 5/1 . No way should galopin be 1/3 in my view. Here's why . This is over 3 miles and our fellow is a superb jumper where as galopin can make the odd error. I'm praying it doesn't rain . This should be a right good battle as bravemansgame will really test galopin and it will have to be on its a game. Would love bravemansgame to do it and well done to Paul Nicholls for sending his horse over. As I would love galopin to come to kempton as I don't think it would get round .good luck
I think if Bravemansgame could have ran at Aintree then he would have swerved Punchestown. (Of course this was beyond Nicholls control).
I do not think the distance will trouble any of the field and as for Paul Nicholls he has the horse ready and prepared to race and there will be decent prize money for 2nd & 3rd at Punchestown, has to go somewhere rather than nothing. (The options are limited).
Now the jumping of Galopin Des Champs does have a blot when he fell but generally his jumping is sound and indeed I would go as far to say as good if not better than the field.
As for the odds I do not see the value in Bravemansgame, when I think place money is the best you could hope for.
I think Galopin Des Champs will win and even at 4/11 there is something if you like backing at those odds.
Could Bravemansgame win, yes of course but would take a massive issue with Galopin Des Champs to occur which is unlikely to happen.
Well JT 5/1 1/4 of the odds I'll make a profit and that's the name of the game. Doesn't matter if it's a penny or a pound as they say . Still galopin is not imo better than bravemansgame and today will be a race to savour. Note the money is coming for bravemansgame and Mullins mob know this isn't a gimee. I'd love galopin to come over to the king George but Mullins isn't daft . Still in Ireland the money talks so I find that very interesting .being honest if bravemansgame isn't in the first 2 I'll platt crap .
One other thing the going at chelts as it rained again suited galopin far better than bravemansgame. I'm hoping the rain stays away ! But good luck if you play but most will just watch whereas I know galopin is beatable.
It is about value for me when I bet peregrine and this race does not offer any really value either win or place.
I only risk a each way bet if I think there is a good chance that my horse can win and failing this place for some money back.
I cannot see Bravemansgame winning this race and I am a fan of this horse by the way, so it would give me great pleasure in watching him win (heart thing) but again betting is a (head thing) and I think Galopin Des Champ will win this.
Good luck with this, I will swerve a bet unless the bookmakers or exchange offer me 4/5 on Galopin Des Champ which again is unlikely.
Think I'll need it as the going is against bravemansgame. Looking at the winners today all like yeilding . So envoi Allen will like it. Still I've paid me money and that's that
Bravemansgame won the King George at the end of December by about 13 lengths in soft going and Envoi Allen finished last in that race, granted Envoi Allen has ran better since but a degree of unreliable that horse.
Debatable who he beat that day as for the quality of the field, but beat them he did and well.
I still think barring an unfortunate error this is Galopin Des Champ race to win today.
Pity I cannot get anything north of 4/5 odds otherwise I would get involved.
Harry Cobden is fuming said if he'd have met the last fence stating he got into deep and he lost momentum reckoned it cost him 2 lengths still it ran a cracker and all the horses ran nice races
