4th, listened in the kitchen while I made me and my wife some Cheese and onion butties.

Led most of the way while grating the Cheese, still leading cutting the onions. Others seem to be starting to challenge while adding some tomatoes. Fell away into 4th, time for a Stella..

Scaramanga has been placed in three of six starts on the level and was beaten 1 1/2l by Gumball when second of 6 at 15-8fav on his latest flat outing at Salisbury over 1m 6f (good to firm) in April last year.

Paul Nicholls 5yr old bay gelding Scaramanga ridden by the in form Ben Curtis is a Maiden on Flat but has shown a decent level of form and is a dual hurdle winner who turned in an improved effort at Wincanton over a near 2m when winning readily under hands and heels in December.

    2nd and 5th Today.

Elixer could not confirm his course superiority over GETAWAY NORTH, but ran his race again in a fashion..

Pilot Wings won well on his stable debut at Wolverhampton the previous week and avoided a penalty for that and was 6lb well in. He was up at the front end from the start but this time he was joined on the turn in and had to get racing a bit too soon, which gave the closers a chance to run them down.

PILOT WINGS 4-20 Lingfield 6/4 BOG

Tony Carroll's 5yr old bay gelding Pilot Wings appeared to appreciate the change of scenery when getting off to a flying start on debut for this yard after being 0-15 for two others when justifying favouritism in a 13-runner handicap at Wolverhampton over 9.4f last a week ago in clear cut fashion when taking it up 2f out. That was an apprentice handicap so he carries no penalty and is due to go up 6lbs in the future.

Barry Murtagh's 7yr old bay gelding ELIXER wasn't much cop over the sticks but he's shaped much better of late over fences producing his best performance so far in this sphere over CD last time from 7lbs out of the handicap.
He held every chance LTO when taking it up three out and was still a touch in front at the last until a mistake put paid to him getting in the winners enclosure for the first time.
Compensation hopefully awaits as they say as the race was given a form boost when the fourth came home in good style this week..

Hard luck Hodge there will be another day..

My fella ran well into 2nd and was well backed but was pipped by a 9/1 shot..

    RUNNING RECORD

    WON 100/30 +3.3
    2nd 11/4 +2.3

Ali Stronge's CD winner Ardmayle reverts back to the smaller obstacles on what looks an appealing mark of 114, his last run over the sticks was in an Ascot listed event off 123.
Seen more over fences these days and looked better than final position last time after a mistake three out put paid to his chances.
Two from two at the track and an overall decent record of 5 wins from 19 with the key being the testing conditions which this mud lover adores..
