Backing #3 COSSIE for a place @ 11/10. Slight concern over the draw in 8, but looks to have a very solid chance here.

Got 3rd. Sat off a slow pace and couldnt pick up the leaders.

R8 RAN (07.20)

Backing #2 KEMENTARI @ 4/5 for a place. Comes off a solid 3rd at Rosehill, good draw, ground fine. Top jock Hugh Bowman rides and should have him near the pace all the way.

Drifted very late, got odds against for the place in the end.

2nd. Pierata nutted on the line after looking the winner.

Finished about 6th. Gytrash much too good.

Thats my lot. Loads of racing in Oz early so calling it a night.

Backing 4#MARIES MELODY @ 11/8 to finish 1-2-3. The fav is being well backed mainly due to connections, but is no good thing. The #4 is ordinary but fairly solid.

VALIANT VIRTUE run down late, but gets 2nd.

Backing the 8 VALIANT VIRTUE @ 8/13 to finish 1-2-3. With 2 top fancies being scratched this looks a great opportunity for this horse to get a win.

And FINE SPIRIT wins without too much fuss @ 9/4. :up:

Backing the fav #3 FINE SPIRIT @ 4/6 to finish 1-2-3. Won as fav lto, and a repeat should go very close.

No good, no show from either of mine. Fav might have got 3rd after trying to make all !

Its amazing how the Aussies are fearless when it comes to backing horses from wide draws. This fav is 5/2 and is drawn widest of 14.

I like Bakers runner #1 SHOCK ALERT and will back it ew @ 4/1. I also like Candices tip a bit, so will back it small for a place at about 2/1.
