The league table at the end of October is a good guide to who is challenging for what. Are we genuine title contenders, promotion possibles or play off probable, or will Bielsa be gone by Christmas?

    WBA (H)
    Millwall (A)
    Birmingham (H)
    Preston (A)
    Sheff Wed (A)

The best team we have beaten to date is Bristol City (8th) and we now face 3 teams currently above them before the end of October. Add to that the always tough Millwall away trip and October is set to be a defining month.

Last season we took 8 points from these fixtures, losing only to Birmingham. The same return would put us on 25pts from 14 games (1.78pts/game) which equates to 82pts over the season.

I think if we are a strong top 2 candidate we need 10pts or more from these matches.

Table starting to take shape. Looking at the top 6 you can see 4 or 5 definitely finishing there, with Cardiff and Bristol City the most likely to force their way in.

A win on Saturday and we are back on track, plus it would be a good result against a team that turned us over at ER last season.

Yes Mugz, it'd be sweet to sink the Brummies tomorrow. I, also' agree with your above calculations of our points average and yes an average of 1.78 points per game is JUST NOT GOOD ENOUGH.
We NEED to average at least 2 points per game as this average will guarantee us automatic promotion.
