    Thanks for the comments lads.
    First let me say that today was an exceptional as far as the results went.
    As for the ratings, the raw rating is a figure derived from the psp,
    wgt,speed+(not shown),OR(not shown),rtf,and rpr.
    Berfair odds (bf1/bf2) taken at 9am and an hour or so before the first
    race, the val column is my idea based on 8 stats involving the jockey,
    trainer, horses form, course, distance, class and going.
    The rating column is a figure from the psp and bf2 cols. If the bf2 col
    is less than psp then the rating would be higher than raw showing some
    support for the horse.
    As for my selecting which horse:
    main rule is bf2 should be lower than val
    flexible rules
    rating should be higher than raw
    trainer should have a decent rtf figure
    confidence (conf) I like it to be quite high but being a new col.
    no proof yet.
    BUT on the whole it boils down to gut feeling, i do find it easier
    studying 3/4 horses instead of 8 and over.
