BEST of the BETS

Should be a drying day, sunny now, so ground will dry out a bit. Not sure it will be good-soft yet, but will be by Thursday and Friday. I thought it rode very well yesterday, with horses near the pace doing well. Ravenhill was the only horse that won after being well off the pace, but that was just good riding as the leaders set a strong pace.

Some real short ones on Day 2 with 5 horses under 2/1 . Classic bookies v punters stuff, the press love it.

Actually B Geraghty is over 50% in UK , but only 29 favs.

I think hes almost at 50% SR on favs in Ireland this season, and only Kevin Brouder and Jack Kennedy are close to that from much fewer rides.

Coleman and De Boinville are closest to 50% in UK.

Just a terrific 1st day, decent for punters with only 2 double fig price winners and 6/7 winners were tipped up in the previews I watched. Lots of the placed horses were also tipped up at good prices and the pp only paid £32 so Id say punters did ok today.

Time to recharge and go again tomorrow, a bottle of Dark Horse merlot for me.

They picked the right race for Honeysuckle, strong stayer. Would have been picked off in the Champion Hurdle.

Unlucky with Sharjah, was swinging away, touched 1.61 in running.

Turned about to be a good CH, the best form horses battled it out.
